Undergraduate Research Assistant – Construction Materials (BCSER Project) (10609054)

Seeking a motivated undergraduate student to support an NSF BCSER project focused on construction materials education. The student will assist with developing and organizing lecture and instructional materials for undergraduate courses, including slides, figures, and summaries. Additional tasks include organizing digital resources, conducting brief literature reviews, and supporting other education- and research-related activities as needed.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist with the development, organization, and formatting of lecture materials for construction materials topics (e.g., slides, figures, tables, summaries, and instructional content).

- Support the preparation of educational resources aligned with course objectives and research goals of the BCSER project.

- Conduct basic literature reviews and help summarize technical content into student-friendly instructional materials.

- Assist with organizing digital files, instructional resources, and project documentation.

- Provide support for other education- and research-related tasks as assigned by the project supervisor.

 

Qualifications

- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at West Virginia University.

- Background in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.

- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to communicate and work well with faculty and other project team members.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

- Proficient in Windows-based applications and strong internet skills.
