Graduate Assistantship - Statler College Outreach & Recruitment (#8457632)

The Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources is seeking a graduate assistant to specialize in Engineering Outreach as well as other duties within the Enrollment Management Office. This student’s main responsibility will be scheduling outreach events, creating K12 STEM-based projects and activities, organizing and creating programming for the Engineering Challenge Camp series, and engaging volunteers to assist with events. This position will also oversee the Statler Ambassador Program and Statler College student organizations in conjunction with the K12 Outreach Coordinator and the Enrollment Management Coordinator. The responsibilities are not limited to this, and may also include attending school visits, attending evening and weekend outreach events on behalf of the WVU Statler College, etc. Additionally, the person who fills this position will manage student organization volunteer hour spreadsheets and budgets, as well as handle general communication via phone, in-person, and email. 

This person must be able to work independently, as well as in groups. He or she must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects at one time. Good writing skills are necessary. A background in engineering, communications, marketing, public relations, education, or business is preferable, but any background will be considered.

The graduate assistant will be eligible for a tuition waiver as well as a stipend. They will be required to work 20 hours per week when school is in session, which might include weekends and evenings.
