Wadsworth Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering-Graduate Student Worker (8649369)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research experiments including field testing and evaluation, and executing laboratory works by assisting students and technicians
- Develop theoretical models to enhance thermo-mechanical properties (e.g., tension, bending, compression, shear, fatigue, puncture, impact, fire) of complex structural systems using fiber reinforced polymer composites
- Analyze collected data from various resources and prepare technical reports
- Develop research proposals to secure funding for ongoing research activities
- Conduct presentations at industry workshops to share research findings and engage with industry professionals
- Collaborate with faculty members and other researchers to develop research projects and publications
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols in all laboratory activities
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., materials science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering)
- Experience in laboratory work and research activities
- Knowledge of fiber reinforced polymer composites and their properties
- Strong analytical skills and ability to collect and analyze data using appropriate software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in laboratory settings
