Communication and Media Assistant (Federal Work-Study/Evansdale) #9027738

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Writing news snippets for social media (IG, X, Facebook and others)

2. Conduct interviews of alumni, students, faculty and staff within department and beyond

3. Develop YouTube video focused on LCSEE labs, students, senior design and research awardees

4. Run social media campaign for high visibility of the LCSEE department 

5. Writing news article hosted on multiple websites and Statler/WVU website

6. Able to work 5-20 hours a week on a hybrid schedule (office space/computer provided)

7. Coordinate with Statler college and WVU office to meet compliance

Qualifications:

1. Currently enrolled at West Virginia University. 

2. Communicate and work well with a variety of individuals. 

3. Possess organizational skills. 

4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. 

5. Proficient in Windows-based applications and strong internet skills. 

6. Prior experience with Social Media

Preference:

1. Student in the Reed College of Media or Communications

2. Interest in energy, machine learning, computing, engineering and computer science news
