Public Health Nurse - Jefferson County Department of Health 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Jefferson County Department of Health is seeking to hire a Public Health Nurse to be responsible for performing specialized public health nursing duties in one or more of the following areas: adult health, disease control, family planning, pediatrics/childcare, maternity, tuberculosis, diabetes, sexually transmitted disease or emergency preparedness. The duties performed by this position vary according to the area of assignment, and may involve performing physical assessments and treating patients according to protocol, performing triage, and counseling/educating patients, or performing strategic tasks related to a variety of Emergency Response and Preparedness areas including action planning, training, reviewing and consulting. Work is performed according to established protocol and standards of nursing practice.

The pay range for this job is listed below:  Health Department $29.00 - $44.99

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The following are job-related qualifications that are required for employment consideration for this position:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama, or a state with reciprocity.
